Camden Brown, Patriots tight end compete for NFL roster spots
The Cowboys receiver and a rookie tight end in New England are among undrafted players pushing for roles during training camp and the preseason.
Cowboys wide receiver Camden Brown has made catches in training camp and the preseason while competing for one of Dallas' remaining receiver spots. CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Ryan Flournoy and Kavontae Turpin are established ahead of him.
Brown spent three seasons at Auburn before finishing at Georgia Southern. His final college season produced 65 receptions for 1,079 yards and 14 touchdowns. His body control has been part of his downfield work, including in preseason play.
In New England, a rookie tight end has gained opportunities behind Hunter Henry and Eli Raridon because of injuries. The Illinois product, who came through Colorado State, has also played fullback and taken lead-blocking reps in gaps.
The roster picture remains unsettled for both players. Final 53-man decisions will determine whether Brown, the Patriots tight end and the other undrafted rookies turn preseason work into regular-season roles.
