Aguilar and Strand lead rookie quarterback performances in preseason Week 2
Joey Aguilar, Jack Strand and Athan Kaliakmanis delivered notable production as 15 rookie quarterbacks took the field.

Joey Aguilar completed nine of 10 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown, while Jack Strand threw for 212 yards, a touchdown and added a rushing score. Fifteen rookie quarterbacks played in preseason Week 2.
Aguilar connected with Trebor Pena for a 29-yard touchdown against the Panthers. The undrafted quarterback's preseason production has come against reserve defenses, but he has now scored in consecutive outings.
Strand threw for 212 yards and a touchdown, then added a rushing score in Atlanta's win over Indianapolis. The undrafted Minnesota State-Moorhead product also ran nine times for 22 yards in the race for the Falcons' No. 3 quarterback job.
Mendoza finished 8-for-15 for 86 yards, threw a pick-six that went 80 yards and took an 11-yard sack in his first start. The No. 1 overall pick did not close the gap with Kirk Cousins, but Las Vegas has no reason to rush him into the lineup.
Kaliakmanis again led Washington in passing with 162 yards, including a 55-yard completion to Nick Nash. Baltimore's Joe Fagnano threw the only touchdown in a 13-3 win over Minnesota, an 8-yard pass to LaJohntay Wester.
Elsewhere, Drew Allar avoided a turnover but completed fewer than half of 23 attempts and took three sacks. Luke Altmyer played turnover-free after two interceptions in his debut, though he was sacked four times.
