Klay Thompson agreed to a two-year, $13 million contract with Miami that includes a player option for the second season, according to ESPN's offseason signing analysis.
The report says Thompson remained an elite shooter despite his decline from his peak, making at least 38% of his 3-pointers on high volume in every season of his career. It also notes Miami had added Tim Hardaway Jr. and had lost Norman Powell and Tyler Herro, identified as its top two shooters from last season.
ESPN's analysis says DeMar DeRozan joined Denver with the likelihood of moving to a reserve role after starting every NBA game of his career, 1,250 between the regular season and playoffs.
